What follows is a brief photographic journey through our first day, with posts for days 2 and 3 to come.<\/p>\n<p>We (maybe I should say Jay) drove into Chicago at around 12:30am on Friday morning.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.lumosstudio.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/08\/IMG_0084.jpg\" rel=\"prettyPhoto[g386]\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-391\" style=\"border: 10px solid black;\" title=\"Chicago Skyway Toll Bridge\" src=\"http:\/\/www.lumosstudio.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/08\/IMG_0084-500x375.jpg\" alt=\"Chicago Skyway Toll Bridge\" width=\"500\" height=\"375\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Chicago&#8217;s finest came out to greet the crowd.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.lumosstudio.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/08\/IMG_7285.jpg\" rel=\"prettyPhoto[g386]\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-393\" style=\"border: 10px solid black;\" title=\"Chicago police prepare for Lollapalooza\" src=\"http:\/\/www.lumosstudio.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/08\/IMG_7285-500x333.jpg\" alt=\"Chicago police prepare for Lollapalooza\" width=\"500\" height=\"333\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Although Lollapalooza is pretty much packed with music fans of every age, <a title=\"Kidzapalooza\" href=\"http:\/\/www.lollapalooza.com\/in_the_park\/kidzapalooza\/activities.html\">Kidzapalooza<\/a> aims at a decidedly younger (and more adorable) demographic.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.lumosstudio.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/08\/IMG_7292.jpg\" rel=\"prettyPhoto[g386]\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-395\" style=\"border: 10px solid black;\" title=\"Lucy contemplates her ice cream\" src=\"http:\/\/www.lumosstudio.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/08\/IMG_7292-500x333.jpg\" alt=\"Lucy contemplates her ice cream\" width=\"500\" height=\"333\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Yeah, I know. I&#8217;m pushing into <a title=\"Cute Overload\" href=\"http:\/\/cuteoverload.com\/\">Cute Overload<\/a> territory.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.lumosstudio.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/08\/IMG_7440.jpg\" rel=\"prettyPhoto[g386]\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-394\" style=\"border: 10px solid black;\" title=\"Henry rocks out\" src=\"http:\/\/www.lumosstudio.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/08\/IMG_7440-500x333.jpg\" alt=\"Henry rocks out\" width=\"500\" height=\"333\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">That&#8217;s Henry rocking out as he plays his part in \u00e2\u20ac\u0153HEY! YOU&#8217;RE A ROCK STAR!\u00e2\u20ac\u009d, a short interactive play put on by <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cooltablecomedy.com\/index\/Home.html\">The Cool Table<\/a>, a Chicago improv comedy troupe. Henry was the guitarist in &#8220;Sponge Blue Square Blue&#8221;, the greatest rock band the world has ever known.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.lumosstudio.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/08\/IMG_7428.jpg\" rel=\"prettyPhoto[g386]\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-397\" style=\"border: 10px solid black;\" title=\"It's the hair\" src=\"http:\/\/www.lumosstudio.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/08\/IMG_7428-500x333.jpg\" alt=\"It's the hair\" width=\"500\" height=\"333\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">The little guy above didn&#8217;t have a role in \u00e2\u20ac\u0153HEY! YOU&#8217;RE A ROCK STAR!\u00e2\u20ac\u009d, but he played his part by watching from the sidelines and having excellent hair.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Meanwhile, the child below practiced for a life of indie rock shows by looking vaguely put-upon by the whole affair.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.lumosstudio.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/08\/IMG_7400.jpg\" rel=\"prettyPhoto[g386]\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-396\" style=\"border: 10px solid black;\" title=\"What are you lookin' at? \" src=\"http:\/\/www.lumosstudio.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/08\/IMG_7400-500x333.jpg\" alt=\"What are you lookin' at? \" width=\"500\" height=\"333\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">In addition to the adorableness, though, there was also awesome kids music to be heard.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">There was <a title=\"Frances England\" href=\"http:\/\/www.francesengland.com\/\">Frances England<\/a>, who I got to meet for the first time (she&#8217;s awesome!):<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.lumosstudio.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/08\/IMG_7324.jpg\" rel=\"prettyPhoto[g386]\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-398\" style=\"border: 10px solid black;\" title=\"Frances England\" src=\"http:\/\/www.lumosstudio.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/08\/IMG_7324.jpg\" alt=\"Frances England\" width=\"600\" height=\"400\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.lumosstudio.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/08\/IMG_7324.jpg 600w, http:\/\/www.lumosstudio.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/08\/IMG_7324-590x393.jpg 590w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">&#8230;and <a title=\"Secret Agent 23 Skidoo\" href=\"http:\/\/www.secretagent23skidoo.com\/\">Secret Agent 23 Skidoo<\/a> always gets the crowd on its feet&#8230;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.lumosstudio.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/08\/IMG_7542.jpg\" rel=\"prettyPhoto[g386]\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-399\" style=\"border: 10px solid black;\" title=\"Secret Agent 23 Skidoo\" src=\"http:\/\/www.lumosstudio.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/08\/IMG_7542.jpg\" alt=\"Secret Agent 23 Skidoo\" width=\"600\" height=\"400\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.lumosstudio.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/08\/IMG_7542.jpg 600w, http:\/\/www.lumosstudio.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/08\/IMG_7542-590x393.jpg 590w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">At the end of the day, <a title=\"Lunch Money: Indie Rock for Kids\" href=\"http:\/\/www.lunchmoneymusic.com\">Lunch Money<\/a> played, and it was every bit as warm and toasty as it looks.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.lumosstudio.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/08\/IMG_7612.jpg\" rel=\"prettyPhoto[g386]\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-401\" style=\"border: 10px solid black;\" title=\"Lunch Money: The Soggy Edition\" src=\"http:\/\/www.lumosstudio.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/08\/IMG_7612-500x333.jpg\" alt=\"Lunch Money: The Soggy Edition\" width=\"500\" height=\"333\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">But fortunately Lucy figured out the key to a good first day at Lollapalooza&#8211;a good umbrella.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.lumosstudio.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/08\/IMG_7596.jpg\" rel=\"prettyPhoto[g386]\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-400\" style=\"border: 10px solid black;\" title=\"Lucy with her umbrella\" src=\"http:\/\/www.lumosstudio.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/08\/IMG_7596-500x333.jpg\" alt=\"Lucy with her umbrella\" width=\"500\" height=\"333\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">By the time we finished playing at the end of day 1, we were all pretty worn out, so that&#8217;s about it for pictures from that day.
